E.L.F Haul – Favs, shades and raves

I recently received my large-ish haul from eyeslipsface.com, I did this order when e.l.f had their massive 50% off sale, which obviously was an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up. eyeslipsface.com (which is the official American website for e.l.f) actually has the best sales ever, there are several sales a week, and they are always worth your time, for example, 30-50% off or spend $30 and receive a free 14 piece brush set – yup, amazing! Although e.l.f is here now in stores at Kmart (learn more about that here), it is still insanely cheaper to order online, and yes you have to pay for shipping, but if you are wanting a big haul it is definitely worth the hassle. On that note, I used YouShop to ship it and was really happy with the speed and price of shipping.

I stocked up on some favorites, some new shades and some new products I have heard others raving about. Below I will briefly touch on the highlights and low lights of the products in my haul.

Studio Mineral Infused face primer in green – I decided to give this a try, as I already love their primer just in the clear shade. The primer is fabulous just as I already knew, but in regards to cancelling out my redness, I’m undecided. It is definitely an amazing primer, which I use on a daily basis, but I don’t know if the green shade/tint really makes any difference.

Essential smudge brush and studio complexion brush – This is a reorder or more like an extra order for me, I love the quality of e.l.f brushes and I just wanted some more. No issues and the most expensive one was $1.50, win!

Studio Lip liner and blending brush: I purchased Nude pink and Fushia which was a bit of a restock as I already own Fushia. These lip liners are easy to use and have really strong staying power. I find that long after my lipstick wears off the lip liner color will still be staying strong, it has even lasted over night when I forgot to rub it off before bed.

New Shades:

Studio matte lip colour in natural – I already have this product in Tea Rose, and love it, and now I am in like with the matte lip in natural. It’s not a ‘wow’ shade, but its nice and soft and simple. And the smoothness that comes along with the matte color is top notch.

Essential lip stain in Pink Petal – these lip stains are fabulous, they actually stain your lips all day and they don’t dry out or freak out if you apply a bit of lip balm over the top. My only issue is that the color is really similar to the one I already have, Fushia Fusion, so yeah I don’t know what’s up with that – love it anyways.

Lip exfoliator -so not really a new shade, but I have just tried and tested so many different kinds of lip scrubs and exfoliators already. I really like the idea of how its shaped and looks just like a normal lipstick, and so far it’s going really well! But, I have heard that these often begin to crumble over time. Have a look at my lip scrub review to find out more.

Studio High definition Under eye setting powder – this has been a hot product recently especially after Shaaanxo listed it as one of her top products for the year and I have to say that I agree! It is such a lovely light powder, it keeps your concealer from moving and creates a soft and flattering highlighting effect at the same time. Next haul this will have moved to my regular favorite purchases.

Studio Blush in Gotta Glow – after reading that this blush was a dupe for NARS Albatross I really wanted to give it a go. I can tell you that I will be adding this to my highlighter collection! It has that same smoothness that all e.l.f blushes have and I feel the level of pigmentation is good. Although I don’t have the NARS product to compare, looking at the comparisons online of the colours and my own experience with the elf product, colour and finish wise this is definitely a good dupe.

Mineral lipstick in Natural Nymph – This has been a long time favorite nude shade of MUO’s and beauty youtubers, and I have been waiting a long time to try it. Unfortunately it is just not the right match for me! It just looks like I have slapped some foundation across my lips, super disappointing. In saying that, the texture is great and again fantastic quality for the price. So i’ll be buying the mineral lipsticks again, but in different shades. I gave one to my best friend to try, although she has light skin like me she is a brunette with brown eyes, so I’ll be interested to see how it looks on her.
