Countdown to MUD – hitting shelves the 20th of May

MUD imageYou heard it here first! Another fantastic brand is on its way to us, just down the road in your local Countdown supermarket, but this time it’s on an even bigger scale. MUD – Make Up Design is the newest make up brand to hit NZ shores, and I have been lucky enough to trial a few products to get you ready for when it arrives next week. I even have my very favorite MUD product to giveaway to another lucky person!

The MUD range includes nail polishes, lipsticks, eye shadow trios and a black gel eye liner – all for a price range of $5 to $11. I’ll be honest, at first I was a little wary about the quality of the products knowing the price range, but I happily proved myself completely wrong! I would liken this new range/brand to e.l.f products in regards to price and quality- and you all know how much I love e.l.f. The only thing is that the range isn’t as wide as e.lf… yet! (I’m crossing my fingers)

After trying some of the eye shadows, two of the nail polishes, the lipstick in the shade ‘red roulette’ (which is a perfect classic red by the way), and the gel eye liner I am really impressed. The products have already gone into the daily use area of my make up storage.

Now I’m going to say something a bit intense, so hold on to your hats: the MUD liner is the best gel eye liner I have ever used – it’s out there now! The texture is so smooth and easy to use compared to other very gluggy gels I have tried in the past. After a long day at work where I ended up stuck in the rain, attending back to back meetings and being handed surprise deadlines, I felt like a mess but my eyeliner was perfectly in place – the ultimate disguise for a stressful day. Also for anyone who is a fan of the amazing Korean brand Tony Moly – The MUD eye liner is definitely a perfect dupe for their gel eye liner.

Now I want to give you have the chance to try out my favourite eye liner! Comment below with the one eye make up product you couldn’t live without to be into win an MUD black Gel Eye Liner! – For me it’s a tough call between my eye liner and brow bone highlighter! The competition is also open on instagram – add #MUDlauraloves to your make up pics and tips to enter* – and have a look at @lauralovesbeautyblog for my own MUD selfies.

IV’E DECIDED TO UP THE PRIZE! Up for grabs is now not only the gel eye liner, but also an MUD eye shadow trio and an Ulta3 pencil eye liner and nail polish – you can see my review of Ulta3 here.

MUD – Make Up Design hits the shelves at Countdown supermarkets around NZ next week from the 20th of May. Look for it in the Health and Beauty aisle, by the Maybelline and Cover Girl stands.

  1. I don’t think I could live without the Naked2 eyeshadow colours! Urban Decay shadows are so pretty and pigmented 🙂

  2. I couldn’t live without lipgloss I’m constantly putting it on unless it’s lipstick so maybe it should be those I couldn’t live without.

  5. I would absolutely DIE without my Maybelline Great Lash mascara, it’s my favourite beauty product ever. I’ve just had no luck with liquid eyeliners, I’ll definitely have to try out this gel one!! ❤ xx
